Most can’t believe they ever spent so much time and money bothering with razors, creams or waxing
If you’re used to shaving, waxing or bleaching your body hair, then you may be wondering about laser hair removal. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic (ASAPS), this procedure can replace other methods of removing hair and leave long lasting results.

How does laser hair removal work?

The idea of a laser beam may seem intimidating when talking about such an intimate topic. But, it is an advanced and safe way to reduce hair growth and remove unwanted hair. At Defy Nature we use a low-energy laser beam to pass through the skin. The treatment is attracted to the pigment of hair follicles. This makes the procedure is not as effective with gray or white hair. The energy from the beam will pass down the hair shaft until it’s absorbed by growing hair follicles. Once the skin absorbs the beam, it disables the follicles ability to grow hair.

Does it hurt?

You might assume that laser hair treatment would be a painful experience. In reality, patients who go through with this procedure only experience temporary pain. Some equate the feeling to be like a hot “snap”. In fact, patients aren’t even put under anesthesia in most circumstances. If you wax 4-6 times a year, imagine having laser hair removal 6 times and being almost hair free.

How long will it take?

The length of a hair removal treatment depends on how much hair is being removed and the location of the hair. Individual treatments can take anywhere from several minutes to a few hours. But, patients may need to return for several treatments. Hair removal treatment only targets growing hair, and not all hair on the body grows at the same time.
